Why is a priority project by ICAA?

Portions of the project overlap with indigenous lands and protected natural areas, threatening not only the biological diversity of the area, but also the development of indigenous communities, especially the Cacataibo populations in voluntary isolation.

Location

Lot 107 is located in the lower eastern region of the Ucayali Basin, between the Ucayali province of the Department of Loreto;  Coronel Portillo and Padre Abad of the Department of Ucayali; Puerto Inca and Huanuco of the Department of Huanuco and Oxapampa of the Department of Pasco.  It has an area of 1 267 674 645 hectares.

Project purpose

Since its inception in 2006, the objective of this project has been the exploration of Lot 107 to confirm the presence of hydrocarbons (gas or oil) in the area, as well as to evaluate development possibilities.
